A narrow ground floor renovation project in Surrey, UK, commissioned by clients Peerless Solutions. With limited space, my task was to reimagine the area to be functional, modern, and sleek, encompassing a dining area, lounge, bedroom, and garden.
We began with the kitchen, installing a slanted sunroof and floor-length window and glass door system to flood the space with natural light. Below the sunroof, we designed custom kitchen cabinetry to accommodate all essential appliances, including wine and spice racks, and ample space for wet and prep zones.
In the lounge, a new staircase was added, providing enough room for sofas and an entertainment system. All electrical cables and boxes were managed under the staircase behind sliding cupboards. The master bedroom was redesigned for maximum space and comfort, and a boot room and bathroom were added.
For the garden, a platform deck was created that extended onto the green garden. Working with tight spaces challenges us as designers to be more innovative and conscientious in our designs, ultimately benefiting our clients.
